Over
the course of time Newtown developed a strong sense of character and community. Neighbors
would come together to help one another,
socialize and attend church, sharing many common bonds and a
deep history. "We didn't have running water and electricity for
the longest time," one resident explained. "So we had to
stick together just to survive."
